Child safety standards
Our published standards against child sexual abuse and exploitation, how to report concerns, and how we respond.
Last updated: 4 June 2026
SwaedUAE Association for Culture and Community Empowerment ("SwaedUAE", "we", "us") is committed to protecting children and young people who use our website at swaeduae.ae and the SwaedUAE – Volunteer mobile apps (together, the "Platform"). This page sets out our standards against child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including child sexual abuse material (CSAM).
Our commitment
- We have zero tolerance for CSAE or CSAM on the Platform or in connection with our programmes.
- We design volunteering features for community empowerment under appropriate adult supervision; youth participation requires guardian consent where required by law and by our Privacy policy.
- We cooperate with law enforcement and competent UAE authorities when we become aware of content or conduct that may harm a child.
Prohibited conduct
The following are strictly prohibited on the Platform and in SwaedUAE-operated channels:
- Creating, uploading, sharing, soliciting, or distributing CSAM or any sexual content involving minors.
- Grooming, exploitation, or endangering children or young people through our opportunities, messaging, or contact tools.
- Using the Platform to arrange harmful contact with minors or to circumvent safeguarding rules set by organizers.
Violations may result in immediate account suspension, removal from rosters, referral to authorities, and permanent bans.
Reporting child safety concerns
Anyone — including volunteers, organizers, parents, and members of the public — can report a child safety concern through:
- In the SwaedUAE – Volunteer app — open Profile → Report a child safety concern (email to our safety team) or Help & support on the Contribute tab, which opens our reporting form.
- On the website — use Contact & support and choose the topic Child safety concern, or email [email protected] with the subject line Child safety concern.
- Urgent risk — if a child is in immediate danger, contact UAE emergency services (999) first, then notify us.
We review reports promptly, preserve relevant logs where lawful, and escalate to regional or national authorities when required.
How we respond
- Triage — safety reports are prioritized and handled by designated staff.
- Preservation — we retain necessary account, attendance, and message metadata to support investigations.
- Action — we remove harmful content, suspend accounts, and cooperate with MoCE-aligned reporting obligations where applicable.
- Follow-up — reporters may be contacted for additional information; we protect reporter identity where possible.
Prevention measures
- Verified organizations and published opportunities are subject to platform rules and admin review.
- GPS check-in and roster tools are for attendance verification only, not continuous monitoring of minors.
- Staff and contractor access to personal data is limited to operational need (see Privacy policy).
